Mis-sold pension claims, handled properly.

Pension advice is regulated for a reason: get it wrong and someone loses part of their retirement. If the advice you were given was unsuitable, you have the right to be put back where you should have been.

What we claim for

If your situation isn’t listed, check anyway. These are the most common patterns, not the only ones.

Pension transfers

You were advised to move a workplace or personal pension, often a final-salary scheme, when staying put was likely better.

SIPPs

You were put into a Self-Invested Personal Pension holding investments that were high-risk, illiquid or simply unsuitable for you.

Annuities

You bought an annuity without being told about better rates elsewhere, or about health conditions that should have increased your income.

Pension liberation

You were encouraged to access pension money early, or offered cash incentives to move it, and were left with tax bills or losses.

What you could get back

Successful pension claims aim to put you back in the position you’d be in if you’d been advised properly: the difference between what your pension is worth now and what it should be worth. For failed SIPP investments, the FSCS can pay up to £85,000 per firm.

Signs you may have been mis-sold

If any of these sound familiar, it’s worth checking. One is enough. You don’t need all of them.

You didn't fully understand it

You were left confused about what you were agreeing to, or why.

You felt rushed

You were pressured to decide quickly, or into something you didn't really want.

Your pension has lost money

The new scheme has performed badly since you transferred.

Fees weren't explained

You paid charges that were never clearly set out at the start.

Risks weren't spelled out

Nobody properly explained what could go wrong with the new investment.

It was sold as a tax move

A SIPP or transfer was recommended mainly as a way to avoid tax.

Returns were 'guaranteed'

You were promised fixed or guaranteed returns that sounded too good.

You were offered incentives

Cash or perks were dangled to get you to move your pension.

Honest about the deal

Checking is free. If your claim succeeds, our fee is never more than 25% + VAT of what you get back, and on larger recoveries the FCA’s caps bring it lower still. We show you the exact amount before you commit to anything.

If your claim is unsuccessful, you pay nothing. You can also claim yourself, for free, through the firm, the Financial Ombudsman Service or the FSCS.

One exception to “nothing”: you can cancel free of charge within 14 days of signing. If you cancel after that and we’ve already done substantive work on your claim, we may charge a reasonable amount for the work done, based on the time spent. It is set out in our terms and always explained to you first.
